Kurt Calleja - "This is the night"

Allgemeine Informationen

Am 20. Oktober 2011 konnte jeder Interessierte einen Titel beim maltesischen TV-Sender PBS einreichen. Es gab bei den Komponisten keine Beschränkung, lediglich der Interpret muss die maltesische Staatsbürgerschaft haben. Es wurden insgesamt 161 Titel eingereicht. Daraus wurden intern anhand der CD-Versionen die besten 62 ausgewählt. Deren Interpreten mussten diese Songs dann vor der internen Jury live präsentieren. Übrig blieben schließlich 24 Titel (die 24 Semifinalisten wurden auf der Webseite von TVM vorgestellt), die das Semifinale am 3. Februar 2012 erreichten, von diesen kamen dann die besten 16 ins Finale am 4. Februar 2012.

Im Finale gab es ein Mischvoting aus Jury und Televoting, in der Jury saßen u.a. Bruno Berberes, Evi Papamichael, Julian Vignoles und Keith Demicoli.

Sieger wurde Kurt Calleja mit "This is the night."
