129 Titel wurden bei TVM eingereicht. Hieraus wurden zunächst intern 30 ausgewählt. Eine 7-köpfige internationale Jury hat anhand von Live-Auditions 16 Acts für das Finale im Februar 2018 ausgewählt. Zunächst hieß es, im Finale werde zu 100% das Televoting entscheiden. Aber man hat die Regeln kurzfristig geändert, und nun gab es 50/50%-Mischvoting aus internationaler Jury und Televoting.
Siegerin wurde Christabelle Borg mit dem Titel "Taboo", geschrieben von Johnny Sanchez, Thomas G:son, Muxu und Christabelle selbst. Sie gewann sowohl das Jury- als auch das Televoting.
